Stranger, the yellow grass, when you looked around,
Then hastened on? Of shadows on the ground
the long grass spoke… (Veld Secret : Bosman)

On this day retreat we discover the connection between walking, writing and meditation. We journey down the river of our lives. We consider how creativity and imagination steady the boat and help us dip the oars into flowing water.
Solvitur ambulandi…. solvitur scribendi… solvitur meditatum
It is solved through walking… solved though writing … solved though meditation

Sunrise Sunset… recalling our Stories R50

Stories are gifts we give ourselves, our children, grandchildren, great-grands and those yet unborn. This wordshop, especially for Rosedale residents, is about recalling your stories. Join us for a fun filled morning. I create a safe space. We use prompts to remember and find ways to tell those stories. Writing is not a talent but skill which we can all learn. It’s never too late.
Bring pen and paper.

Zen Pen: A Writing, Being & Meditation Retreat
Fri 6–Sun 8 Oct

Looking at your image in a clear stream, you answer the question by your very presence
In this workshop we explore the connection between writing and meditation. We write and meditate on the many changes and transformations we experience as we journey along the river of our lives. We consider how creativity steadies the boat and how writing helps us dip the oars into dark water so we may navigate the river safely.

4b. Mirror. Lens and Window: the Art of Journaling
Sun 8 – Wed 11Oct

Some record only what has happened to them; but others record how they happened to the universe. (Henry David Thoreau)
The word ‘journal’ comes from Old French, ‘day’. So it is our daily encounter with ourselves through the mirror, lens and window of words and silence. ‘Journal’ echoes the word ‘journey’, as we travel through inner and outer landscapes. In this retreat we write with the ear, eye and heart.
