As the new year berths , a number of folk are reading The Book of Joy: Lasting Happiness in a Changing World (2016). The 14th Dalai Lama and Archbishop Desmond Tutu in conversation. The compiler/writer, Douglas Abrams, sees the book as a three tiered birthday cake – the joyous philosophy of the two octogenerians, brainscience research on joy and the of intimacy arising from the conversation between the two spiritual luminaries at Dharamsala in 2015 to celebrate his Holiness’s 80th.

I love the images arising. Abrams talks of the Sanskrit origin of the words dukkha (suffering) and sukha (happiness) Your ox cart rides along the bumpy road on a weak or a strong axle
